Public Health is awarding services and organisations recognition for promoting breastfeeding to families and supporting the continued prevalence across the county. Breastfeeding has multiple health benefits for mother and baby including reducing the likelihood of obesity and developing type 2 diabetes. Breastfed babies experience fewer chest infections, ear infections and require less hospital visits as a result. Breastfeeding provides families with the greatest opportunity to achieve robust health, wellbeing and attachment.
Public Health would like to invite schools and Early Years’ Service providers to sign up to the scheme. Upon sign up all services will be added to the Positive about Breastfeeding website.
