Supporting young people who self harm

Barnardo's Mandala Therapy and Play Service

 

A reflective training day for practitioners who work directly with young people who self-harm.

 

On Wednesday June 18th 10-4pm, The Red Brick Building, Glastonbury (lunch provided): Cost £95

 

The day will include:

  • in-depth exploration of self harming behaviour.
  • opportunities to gather insight, skills, information, resources and support.
  • small group case discussions (participants are encouraged to bring their own cases for discussion and group reflection).
  • creative therapeutic approaches.
  • reflective practice and self-care.

Facilitated by: Ruth Garside, Child Psychotherapist, Jenny Hailes, Creative Therapist and Play Specialist.

 

With support from: Teresa Day, Children and Young People Health Education Advisor, Public Health Somerset County Council, who will provide an update about the national and local picture of information and data relating to self-harm.

 

This day is for frontline staff working directly with children and young people aged 5-18. Places are limited to 16 on a first come first served basis.
