Outdoor Learning Hub

As part of the Field to Fork offer, we want to provide schools and settings with the opportunity to make independent use of the site. Our aim is to create a space for targeted groups and organisations to engage in growing, cooking and outdoor learning in a wonderful setting on a real working farm.

Alongside this we want to help facilitate good quality health-related training for staff across all agencies. To help us do this, we are in the process of developing an outdoor learning hub at Frogmary Green Farm. The hub will include a full size classroom with adjacent growing and outdoor education areas.

The hub will offer the opportunity for:

  • Independent group visits for registered settings and organisations that support children, young people and families
  • A teacher training facility for staff wishing to enhance their skills in outdoor education, farming and food
  • A central learning base for PSHE, Emotion Coaching and Parenting CPD
  • An all-weather resourced classroom for children attending as part of a Guided Farm Visit

Any staff wishing to use the Outdoor Learning Hub, independent of a guided farm visit, will have to attend a full induction programme and complete a full risk assessment before each visit.

Details of how to register for the Outdoor Learning Hub Induction Programme will be sent to schools during the autumn term 2016.
